Well, there's personal satisfaction, I guess. It does feel nice to be able to crank through stuff quickly. It feels related to why I prefer biking to running -- the scenery changes faster. But if you're more the type who likes to sit on a bench and admire static scenery, then staring at the same function for six days might be more rewarding for you. |

The perldb function in Emacs allows you to run the Perl debugger while viewing the source code in another window. It is a much nicer environment for debugging Perl than the plain standalone Perl debugger. This is how to use perldb to debug mod_perl code.

Where Python falls down | FOB
Let me be clear that I think Python is pretty neat. I've seen some good solutions put together with it, and even
helped to do so myself. I just think that if you have to pick a silver bullet, there are better choices. Even if C,
C++, Perl, and TCL aren't four of them.
